DEVLog - February

February had 496 commits across 12 repositories. That is a lot for the shortest month of the year. Most of them went into one new product.

I wrote this devlog later, using my GitHub history, so the series has no hole in it.

NotuDocs is born

I created NotuDocs this month, and it took 139 commits. NotuDocs turns raw professional notes into structured documents. You write, record or photograph your notes, and AI fills a template for you.

A template and your notes go in, and a finished document comes out.
A template and your notes go in, and a finished document comes out.

A template app is only useful if the templates already exist. So I built a seeding system with 78 template specs across 5 disciplines. A new user opens the app and finds a library ready to use.

I also wrote a lot of content for search engines. This is called programmatic SEO: many pages built from the same structure, each one answering a specific search. NotuDocs got 80 blog articles in English and 80 in Spanish. Each discipline got its own landing page at /for/[discipline]. Then I added internal links across all 160 articles, so readers (and Google) can move from one to the next.

Under the hood, I moved every stored file from Convex storage to Cloudflare R2, which is cheap object storage. I added query caching to make pages faster. I also stopped free plans from adding team members, so the paid plan has a clear reason to exist.

SignatureAPI moves forward

SignatureAPI is the e-signature API I work on every day. This month I upgraded the dashboard to Next.js 16 and React 19. I also moved the build from webpack to Turbopack, the newer and faster bundler from the Next.js team.

The API reference got attention too. I rewrote the descriptions and examples in our OpenAPI spec, the file that describes every endpoint. Then I updated the public docs to match it, page by page. Good docs save developers hours of guessing.

Along the way I fixed a bug that produced blank pages in some signed documents, and I cleaned up security alerts in our dependencies. We shipped 8 production releases in February.

Privacy Policy Review reads PDFs

Privacy Policy Review gets privacy policies checked by attorneys, with AI help. Until now you had to paste your policy as text. Now you can drag and drop a PDF. The app pulls the text out of the file and sends it to the AI review.

I also added emails and some SEO improvements this month.

Quiet experiments

The rest of the month went into small prototypes that I am not ready to show yet. There is a mobile app with daily quests, an experiment with AI agents running a company, and a simulation tool with live charts. Some of them will grow. Some will stay in a drawer.

On this blog, I published the January devlog, added a NotuDocs project page and made YouTube videos load page by page.

What comes next

  • NotuDocs: get it in front of real users.
  • SignatureAPI: keep improving the docs and the dashboard.
  • Prototypes: decide which ones deserve more time.

Thank you for reading. If you try any of these projects, tell me what you think.
