Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls on LinkedIn?

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls on LinkedIn?

It's so Rolando Love Lifestyle

Last month, I decided to spice up my love life by turning every social network into a potential dating app. Why stick to just one algorithm when you can have an entire buffet of digital interactions?

I started with Twitter (or X, whatever). I figured since people post their unfiltered thoughts there, it would be the perfect place to find a soulmate—or at least someone with a compatible sense of humor. I scrolled, I engaged, I looked for sparks. But mostly, I just found memes and hot takes.

Then, I stumbled upon a tweet that felt different. A witty observation about romance. I shot my shot with a playful reply. To my surprise, she responded! We chatted, but it quickly became clear she was guarded. The banter was there, but the vulnerability wasn’t. Connection failed.

Feeling bold (or perhaps just desperate), I decided to level up and try my luck on LinkedIn. Who says professional networking can’t lead to a personal connection?

That day, I received a connection request from a very cute medical student. I usually ignore strangers, but her profile intrigued me. I accepted.

I sent a message—professional but personal. We talked about goals, life, and the challenges we were facing. To my surprise, the chemistry was undeniable. It wasn’t just “networking”; it was a genuine connection.

I know what you’re thinking. “Rolando, you’re crazy.” Maybe. But with a little creativity and a lot of intention, any platform can be a place to connect. I’m done limiting myself to the “dating” apps. Love is where you find it.
