Living the Dream
Last week, I woke up feeling like I was living a dream. Day after day, I’d been pouring myself into my goals, refusing to let anything derail me. And suddenly, the results started rolling in.
One major highlight was the progress on my personal project. It’s wild how satisfying it is to see an abstract idea turn into something you can actually touch and use. The joy of creation is unmatched.
But the triumphs weren’t just digital. For the first time ever, I cooked Eggs Benedict.
Now, this might sound trivial to you. But where I live, Eggs Benedict isn’t a common breakfast item, and finding real butter for the Hollandaise sauce involves a quest. Alternatives are pricey, so I had to improvise.
If I’m being honest? It was disastrous. Probably one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. But you know what? I tried. I stepped out of my comfort zone, failed spectacularly, and learned a ton for next time. The pride of the attempt outweighed the taste of the failure.
The cherry on top came on Friday: I received an offer to become a Professor at my alma mater. This has been a lifelong dream. The chance to shape the next generation of minds is an honor I couldn’t say no to. I accepted immediately.
Living the dream isn’t about perfection. It’s about active pursuit. It’s about grinding toward your goals, laughing at your failed culinary experiments, and celebrating the wins, big or small.
So, chase your progress. Forget perfection. The journey is the destination. And sometimes, the journey tastes like bad Hollandaise sauce. But it’s worth it.
