DEVLog - November

Hey there! I’m back. I disappeared for a while because exactly one month ago I had to travel with no plan, just a trip that happened from one week to another. This limited my time and I was not able to create new entries, so here is a big picture of what I’ve been doing over the last months.

Trip to Portugal

I think the main update I can bring today is that right now I’m in Portugal and I’m not sure when I’ll return to Venezuela (if I return at all), since there are many problems and difficulties regarding the return journey.

But don’t feel pity for me! I’m doing well and enjoying one of the best countries in the world to live in.

My Portuguese is improving every day. I’m meeting new people, discovering new problems, and ideating new projects that perhaps will change the future (in fact, I’m already working on one of them).

I believe getting out of your comfort zone and doing new things, failing, learning, and recovering, is the best way to grow. I’m starting over and over again; I feel like a kid making blunder after blunder, and despite it sometimes feeling embarrassing, it’s actually quite funny and I’m enjoying it. This sense of renewal is exactly what I needed to spark my creativity.

YouTube Channel

Finally, I decided to start a YouTube channel. I created and scheduled the first two videos before the trip, and since the journey was unplanned, the release literally caught me on the plane.

The channel is in Spanish, but I will add English dubs as soon as I’m able to. The idea is to share my experiences and learnings through my stories.

I think in a future full of AI and fake things, being authentic and real will make a huge difference. That’s the reason why I decided to present myself as a person, not just a Software Engineer or an expert, just me and my stories. Building a community around genuine human experience is far more rewarding than just chasing metrics.

Looking to the Future

I’ll finish my update here for now. There are a couple of new ideas and one is already a project, but I will give you the full update next year before the release. It’s a B2C project that I’ve been thinking about for a while, and it feels like the right next step.
