DEVLog - July

Devlog

Hello world!

July has reached its end and we are now moving through the second half of this year. This month was quite productive. Most of my energy was dedicated to marketing, so there was not a large amount of new development to report.

Let us review everything I accomplished last month and look at what is planned for August.

Scan Documents

In our digital age, the need for digital documents is constant. I created Scan Documents to help digitize your world. You can simply take a picture of a page, a book, or an ID. The tool then restores the image by correcting the perspective, enhancing the quality, and applying professional effects. This even works while you are offline.

After three months of building a community and gaining initial users, I decided to launch on Product Hunt with high expectations. However, the reality was more difficult than I anticipated. The launch only received six upvotes on the opening day.

Before the launch, I connected with several people to secure early support. I hoped to reach the top rankings and attract attention from new users. Unfortunately, the plan did not work as intended. Many people I contacted either did not collaborate or joined too late. We ended the day with only eight total votes and reached position 72.

I felt disappointed at first, but I eventually realized that the specific number of votes was not my primary goal. My target audience is not typically on Product Hunt. That platform is often a directory for builders and consumed by other enthusiasts. It can sometimes feel more like a popularity contest than a professional product evaluation. This realization helped me manage my frustration.

The following days were actually more interesting because my broader strategy was succeeding. My real objective was to increase the domain authority of my product, attract more organic traffic, and gain new users. Both metrics have improved significantly since the launch.

After a month without much activity, the number of registered users grew by 20 percent following the launch. Impressions and clicks on Google reached new highs for the year. I even observed several users clicking the subscribe button, meaning they very nearly converted to customers.

Despite the difficult launch day, the original plan is working. I expect the number of users to continue rising in the coming months, similar to the growth I saw with IMG Processing last year. I want to thank everyone who supported me with a vote. I am committed to developing this product further and making it a success.

IMG Processing

Moving on to IMG Processing, which is my API for image processing tasks. This month I reached a significant milestone with 100 registered users on the platform.

With nearly four new users joining each week, this has been one of my best months for growth. Every day more people show interest in the API and some are even starting to subscribe.

I do have some news that is a bit less positive. This month the API lost a customer. Churn is always difficult because it means someone has stopped using your product. However, it provides a valuable opportunity to learn and improve the service.

Despite this loss, the total number of customers has increased. This means IMG Processing is currently generating revenue.

Regarding development, the major update is the release of the MCP server. This allows you to integrate IMG Processing directly with AI agents. You can see an example here of how to remove the background from images using this new tool.

SignatureAPI

SignatureAPI is the digital signature platform and the startup where I am currently focused.

We reached three major milestones this month regarding registered users, total subscribers, and the number of envelopes created each day. These metrics are private so I cannot share specific figures, but they are very promising.

The CEO prefers not to follow a build in public approach. While I personally enjoy transparency, I understand the reasoning. Being visible can be risky when there are many competitors. I believe the market is large enough for everyone, but I do not lead the company or manage investors. I respect the decision of the leadership. The potential I see for this project is incredible. I expect our metrics could be 100 percent higher by the next quarter.

What is Next?

This is my plan for August:

  • Scan Documents: My focus will be entirely on marketing. The product is ready and now I need users.
  • IMG Processing: I will improve internal workflows to support teams and add a free trial for live images.

Let us see what happens in the next devlog.
