DEVLog - January

February 3, 2025
Devlog

Hey everyone! Long time no see. A lot has happened since my last blog post. While I am still working on automating my content creation and sharing workflows, I wanted to share a DevLog to keep you updated on what I have been working on these past months. Let’s dive right in!

Presenting Scan Documents

Every day we are moving more and more things to computers. Digitalization has become a crucial part of our lives. To make this easier, I created a new application that helps digitalize documents like books, ID cards, passports, and any other paper documents you need to convert to digital format.

The application offers a free anonymous access tier. Anyone can scan their documents completely free and offline. For those who need more power, there will be a paid plan with advanced features like online sync and cloud processing support.

IMG Processing

IMG Processing is a tool that helps you integrate image processing, analysis, and editing into your applications with ease. Almost half a year has passed since its release, and I am still adding new features to it.

IMG Processing

IMG Processing

Image Processing API. A picture is worth a thousand words. Integrate powerful image processing capabilities into your applications in minutes.

The latest update is the extract-text endpoint. This endpoint uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and AI to detect text in any image and return the text lines. Think of it as a way to pull text out of screenshots, scanned documents, or even photos of street signs.

I also made some enhancements to the watermark endpoint. You can now repeat watermarks across both the horizontal and vertical axes of your images. This is useful for protecting your images from unauthorized use.

January was a great month for IMG Processing. We had more than 17 active users testing the API, even though no one has subscribed to a paid plan yet.

SignatureAPI

SignatureAPI is a high-volume digital signature platform that launched in March of last year. It is also my current engineering job, which keeps me busy!

The company is raising capital right now, so I cannot share specific numbers publicly. However, I am happy to say the platform is handling impressive volumes. The customer feedback has been amazing:

You’re so far the best in the business and I’m glad I found you.

I’m very pleased with SignatureAPI and how we have been able to integrate it into our new SaaS app.

Congratulations for the stability of your service, we are very happy with you.

We also added more features this month. Since they are quite technical, I will write about them in future posts in a way that you can apply the solutions to similar problems.

More Projects

Several other projects have come back to life in recent months. Here’s what’s been happening:

AI José Gregorio

AI José Gregorio has been updated and is now faster and smarter than before. This AI medical assistant helps people get health information during challenging times.

StepCode

I am planning an update for StepCode. The plan is to support more languages beyond Spanish. I might also add a copilot agent that helps students learn without giving them the answers directly. Think of it as a tutor that guides you rather than just telling you what to do.

YouTube Channel

And now for the huge announcement! I am testing tools like Animotion and Motion Canvas to automate motion graphics creation. The goal is to start a YouTube channel where I publish content similar to my blog posts. The videos will actually be based on the articles I write here.

What’s Next?

I plan to start creating weekly or even bi-weekly content soon. I am still fine-tuning some automation tools like Buffer to set up a process that helps me create content consistently. The goal is to do this without it interfering with my job, side projects, and personal life. It won’t be easy, but I will make it happen.

Thank you for reading! I hope to see you in the next post. If you want to chat about any of these projects or have questions, feel free to reach out.
