DEVLog - August
Hello everyone! Another month has reached its end and we are now moving into the ninth month of the year. Many things have happened and I am happy to return and share the latest updates on my projects.
Scan Documents
During July, I released Scan Documents on Product Hunt. This month I focused on marketing and publishing the site across many authoritative platforms. However, the results suggest that I might have been shadow banned by Google 😅.
I am not certain what went wrong with my strategy, but the Google bot clearly disapproved. I did not do anything unusual. I simply promoted my site on X, Peerlist, and other similar platforms.
This month I saw a 100 percent increase in users compared to the entire lifetime of the product. although many users reached the checkout session, none have subscribed yet. Because this engagement was so high, I decided to apply some changes to IMG Processing to see if I can replicate that behavior there.
The main update for the product was the addition of a straightforward onboarding flow. It is now easier to obtain an API Key and execute the first request using curl or Postman. The Postman Collection was reviewed and the publisher account was verified by Postman at the end of August.
The product is nearly at its ideal feature set. I will continue to make small improvements to ensure it remains the best tool for document digitization and processing.

IMG Processing
Updates for IMG Processing are also underway. My API for processing images received several frontend changes that I expect will increase conversions.
The first change of the month involved the landing page. I enhanced the hero section by adding an endpoint and its response alongside a call to action that redirects to the dashboard. I expect this change to lead to more sign ups.
The dashboard now includes two direct links to the playground and the Postman Collection. Additionally, users can now obtain live API Keys and receive up to 25 free paid requests to test the API at its full potential. I expect these changes to increase conversions and improve the developer experience.
This month I plan to investigate adding more models for image generation. One challenge is that they are significantly more expensive than the current pricing of the API. I must find a way to make them available without exceeding my budget.

Privacy Policy Review
One project that was set aside for a while is my tool to automate the process of reviewing privacy policies by attorneys. This process is necessary for many organizations that want to be compliant with SOC2 or ISO. However, many do not have a legal team to review them and must hire a lawyer who usually charges high hourly rates.
The main change was finally adding the terms of service and privacy policy to the site. It was unusual for a service dedicated to reviewing privacy policies to lack its own. That has changed and the documents are finally available.
Another important update is the start of the dashboard development. I expect this to provide a better experience than what is currently offered through Typeform. This month I will continue working on this dashboard so I can release it as soon as possible.

AI José Gregorio
I cannot write this post without mentioning the shutdown of AI José Gregorio. This medical chatbot reached some popularity last quarter, but the costs increased in an unexpected way.
At the time of its closure, 32 users were using the app almost daily. However, an attack during the final weeks forced me to stop the service. They were generating two thousand messages per day. Although I could have fixed the issue, I decided it was not worth the effort. I did not have a way to monetize the project. With free chatbots like Gemini and Copilot available, there was no reason to keep the service running.
It is difficult to let go because this project was very special to me. It was one of my first projects as an Indie Hacker and I worked many hours to deliver something useful. I have to be realistic as the project was no longer sustainable.
If you were a user, I want to thank you for your support. I hope you find a suitable replacement and I invite you to support my new projects.
SignatureAPI
New customer numbers were lower than I anticipated, but SignatureAPI continued the growth seen last month.
On the product side, I focused on adding new features such as document uploads and PDF encryption. These features are now available and documented.
SignatureAPI
Electronic Signature API. The modern way to collect e-signatures in your apps and workflows, at any scale.
