DEVLog - August
Last month was productive. Like, really productive.
I took a break from the soul-crushing job hunt and focused on what I do best: building cool stuff.
Welcome, AI José Gregorio
The star of the show this month was AI José Gregorio, a medical assistant powered by AI.
(For context, José Gregorio Hernández is a legendary Venezuelan doctor and religious figure. Naming an AI after him was a bit bold, but it paid off).
I built it with React Native (frontend) and Python (backend). The biggest challenge? Handling the crushing concurrency when 100+ users jumped on it in the first week.
AI José Gregorio
Your friendly neighborhood AI medical assistant.
It had bugs. It crashed. But it worked. And it proved that people want accessible medical guidance.
I even submitted an Android version to Google Play. Fingers crossed.
”Me” Starts to Shine
My other big project, “Me”, is coming together.
It started as a frustration with existing goal-tracking apps. They were either too simple or too complex. I wanted something in the middle—a place to set goals, track interests, and eventually, find a community.
Right now, it’s just a goal tracker. But it’s my goal tracker.
I’m aiming for a V1 release by mid-September. Free. Dark mode. English and Spanish.
The Job Search Break
Job hunting sucks. It’s a rollercoaster of “We loved your profile!” followed by “Unfortunately…”
So, I stopped. I took a month to breathe, code, and remember why I love this industry. Best decision I made all year.
