A Quarter of a Century
Yesterday marked a significant milestone: I celebrated my 25th birthday. Crossing the quarter-century threshold has left me reflective, a little scared, but mostly motivated for what lies ahead. Looking back at the journey from 24 to 25, it’s impossible not to feel a sense of anticipation for the future.
One Year in Seven Paragraphs
When I turned 24, life was stable. I had a steady job, a good friend to play video games with every Saturday, a massive obsession with Persona 5, and a few side projects brewing in my mind. As the Christmas lights twinkled, I had no idea how drastically things were about to change.
The first three months of the year were a blur of dates. I made a conscious decision to improve my social skills and step out of my comfort zone. Was it a resounding success? Hard to say. but I felt different—more secure, freer, and happier. My wallet, on the other hand, was definitely hurting.
The second quarter was about finding myself. Meeting so many new people made me realize I didn’t actually know who I was. I dove back into online courses, exploring fields far removed from Computer Science—arts, marketing, literature. I was on a mission to discover my true passions. During this period, this blog was born—an initiative to help others while finding myself.

That quarter ended with a realization: I needed to distance myself from everything familiar to truly process my growth. I bought a one-way ticket to Europe and embarked on a solitary journey. That trip was transformative, filled with experiences that forced me to mature and grow in ways I hadn’t expected.

Upon returning, I had no job, no active projects, and had lost touch with some old friends. But I had me. I threw myself into ambitious projects like AI José Gregorio, Me, Drawmatic, and StepCode. I learned to cook, I learned to dance. I met an incredible woman and set new, higher aspirations. I even became a professor. Fear and uncertainty simply evaporated.
DEVLog - October & November
Updates on my projects after a month of healing and reflection.
Time marched on. Projects wrapped up, new ones began. I got a new job, made new friends, and drifted from others. Now, I turn 25 in the same physical place, surrounded by some of the same people—yet everything has changed.
I’ve discovered new passions and set ambitious goals. I’m exploring interests I never thought I’d touch. I don’t know exactly where the horizon is, or if I’m even on the “right” track. But honestly? It doesn’t matter. If all of this can happen in a single year, I can’t wait to see what the next 25 bring.
